INDUCTION HEATING FOR FINISHING LINES
Our products
In continuous steel strip finishing, thermal conditions must be controlled according to the specific operation being carried out. Different process steps can require drying, heating or thermal treatment, each with its own requirements in terms of temperature profile, response time, line speed and equipment integration.
The technology selected for a finishing line therefore depends on the process function to be achieved and on the condition of the strip at that point in the line. Heating performance, controllability, available installation space and interaction with the surrounding equipment all have to be considered together.
Within this application area, dedicated systems are developed for different thermal duties on continuous strip. Each solution is engineered around the required process result rather than applying the same heating concept to every finishing operation. Where induction is used, energy is generated electrically within the steel itself, enabling rapid response and precise control without direct flame contact with the strip.
The overall system is designed around the line as a whole, including the heating equipment, power and control architecture, cooling where required, automation and mechanical interfaces. This process-driven approach allows the thermal section to operate as an integrated part of the finishing line and to follow the actual production conditions.
KEY BENEFITS
- Process-specific thermal control: each solution is selected and engineered according to the function required by the finishing line.
- Continuous-line integration: equipment, automation and plant interfaces are developed around strip movement and the actual line layout.
- Controlled and repeatable operation: thermal performance can be coordinated with strip dimensions, line speed and process requirements.
- Flexible electrical heating options: where induction is applied, heat can be generated directly within the strip with fast response and low thermal inertia.
- Support for decarbonization strategies: electrically powered heating can reduce reliance on local combustion when combined with an appropriate energy mix and process configuration.
- Integrated system engineering: thermal equipment, power supply, control, cooling and mechanical integration are developed as coordinated parts of the application.
