Strand Electromagnetic Stirring (S-EMS) technology uses a horizontally traveling magnetic field to push liquid steel, either in a “butterfly” or “triple” stirring pattern which actively mixes hot and cold steel regions, enhances internal solidification structure by promoting equiaxed grain formation, reducing center porosity and segregation in various steel grades.
